Jalandhar: The Punjab government has waived off total registration fee charged for transfer of property between spouses and blood relations in urban & rural areas with immediate effect which would be a big relief to such beneficiaries.
The Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar, Kamal Kishor Yadav has said that as the Government has already issued the notification in this regard and the district administration has all set to implement this people friendly decision at bottom level.
He said that the decision would encourage families to legally transfer property between blood relations and spouses including son, daughter, father, mother, brother, sister, grandson and granddaughter,
Besides that the government has also decided to waive off social security fund, social infrastructure cess and stamp duty on such transfers.
Mr. Yadav said that the all necessary instructions were issued to the revenue officials in the district to facilitate the people in this regard besides ensuring a special drive to aware the masses regarding that. He said that earlier people were avoiding legal transfer of properties between blood relation due to registration fee and stamp fee that was leading to disputes in the family.
