We would not compromise with this demand at any cost : Lally
Hoshiarpur: The Punjab Youth Congress (PYC) has decided to launch an agitation for getting the Mohali Airport named after youth icon Bhagat Singh. So, the PYC has started a campaign on social media to get the signatures of the people of Punjab to support the cause.
President of PYC, Amarpreet Lally in a telephonic conversation informed that the Youth Congress demands to name the Mohali Airport after the name of youth icon Bhagat Singh as the youths have great respect and love for Bhagat Singh. He said, “The Mohali Airport and Khatkar Kalan (Bhagat Singh’s village), both lies in Sri Anandpur Sahib Parliamentary Constituency, thus, it has relevance to name the Airport after his name.”
Amarpreet Lally also said that the youth of Punjab admires Bhagat Singh and thus, it is very important for the Government to regard Bhagat Singh.
He alleged that the SAD and BJP have rejected their demand. He alleged, “PM Narendra Modi did not issue even a penny for Punjab and now, he is not even willing to name the Mohali Airport after Bhagat Singh.” He added, “Both the parties are playing a bad political game in Punjab.” “I request all the parties to unite on this issue and get the Mohali Airport named after Bhagat Singh,” he said.
Amarpreet Lally further said that we have started a campaign on social media for this purpose and if the government did not pay heed to their demand, they would initiate an agitation all over Punjab. He warned the Punjab as well as the Union Government of their responsibility if the law and order situation get hindered by their agitation.
“We would not compromise with this demand at any cost. We are ready for every type of sacrifice,” said Lally.
