Jalandhar: Secretary Punjab Red Cross CS Talwar today said that a state level campaign would be started soon to make the people and particularly students aware of scientific techniques of First Aid.
While addressing the state level function on First Aid awareness at Red Cross Bhawan here today, CS Talwar said that education,health and traffic police department would play a pivotal role in this campaign which would be started soon in Punjab.He Said that Jalandhar has paved the way for other districts to follow on First Aid awareness by including the trio departments in awareness campaign in the district. He said the main focus would be given on educational institutes if first aid can be provided on right time previous lives can be saved during the accidents and in emergency situations. First Aid is an important aspect of today’s life that’s why we are going to start a state level campaign on First Aid he added CS Talwar.
Deputy Commissioner-cum-President of Red Cross Branch Jalandhar, Kamal Kishor Yadav in his address said that regulars seminars and programs are being conducted in educational institutes by Red Cross Branch Jalandhar so as to make the students aware of First Aid techniques. He further said that besides this focus is also given on traffic rules and inculcating the moral values among the students to provide First Aid on priority in case of any emergency situation. He said that health, education and traffic police departments are working jointly in Jalandhar District to cover maximum aspects of the First Aid during these awareness program.
During the state level function Lecturer Som Raj and Representative of Traffic Police Jalandhar Shamsher Singh also informed the students of various First Aid techniques and traffic rules in threadbare. The chief guest and Deputy commissioner jointly honoured the students who have achieved positions in Quiz competitions conducted by the Red Cross society during the last 8 awareness programs organized in various educational institutes. Besides this, chief guest also honoured personalities who have contributed in such activities of District Red Cross Branch. During the program students of various institutes also presented cultural items. S.D.M Phillaur Jasbir Singh, D.T.O R.P Singh, A.C.P Traffic D.S Buttar, D.P.R.O Gurmit Singh, Parveen Mahajan from Red Cross Branch Punjab, D.G.C Surjit Lal and Secretary District Red Cross Parmjit Singh were also present on this occasion.
