Mahilpur: Shiv Kumar Bawa: Stray cattle are the beauty of roads in Punjab. The government has accepted this fact and has nothing been doing for their management to keep them away from the roads and other places. These stray cattle cost human lives every now and then. Today, 3 people were killed by these stray cattle in 2 different road accidents in Mahilpur area.
As per information received, Rohit Kumar s/o Ashwani Kumar r/o Jaijon Doaba was traveling along with his friend Tajinder Singh s/o Gurdeep Singh r/o Mehmdowal Kalan on a bike (PB 07 AE 1842) from Mahilpur to Jaijon Doaba. When they reached near village Chakk Nariyal, a stray cow hit their bike. Rohit died at the spot while Tajinder succumbed to the injuries at Civil Hospital Hoshiarpur.
In another case, Kehar Singh s/o Ram Singh r/o Langeri was traveling on his scooter from Saila Khurd to his home at Langeri. When he reached at the bridge of village Tootomajara, a stray cow hit his scooter. Kehar Singh died on the spot.
