Tanda: Varinder Pandit: Some robbers targeted a house at village Chohan lying in the jurisdiction of Tanda police station last night. A woman was present in the house and 6 masked robbers held her hostage at gun point. Then, they conducted the robbery at the house.
The victim woman Daljit Kaur w/o Late Bhagwan Singh r/o Chohan said that 6 masked robbers held her hostage at gun point and robbed 1 Kg gold, Rs. 2.5 Lakh and 4,000 US Dollars. She said that the robbers locked her in a room and fled away.
Daljit Kaur broke the window in the morning and informed about the robbery to the villagers and the police.
DSP Karanvir Singh reached the spot along with the police party and began the investigation. Dog squad and finger print expert also conducted the preliminary investigation of the spot.
Daljit Kaur said that she planned to visit her son and daughter in USA on 24th August, thus she withdrew the gold and money from a bank in Begowal yesterday.
Police have been investigating into the case.
