Jalandhar: Punjab President of Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Shivbir Singh Rajan today said that he would focus more on bringing new youth to the party fold especially from the Sikh community.
Rajan, who received a grand welcome on his first visit to Jalandhar, after he was made BJYM chief few days ago, said that the youth wing of the BJP is set to play a crucial role for the party ahead of 2017 assembly polls and wing will start number of new campaigns to attract new young members to the party fold.
Rajan, who was also addressing the press conference said that the Yuva Morcha is going to focus more in villages and would bring the policies of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government at Centre to the masses in far flung areas.
“The polices of the NDA government like Make in India, Digital India and Skill India are going to play a pivotal role in attracting youth to the party as the young India is of the view that such policies can change the face of the country. These policies are going to generate thousands of jobs for the youth of the country” he said.
On a question of dharna by youth Congress members in Ferozerpur against state BJP chief Kamal Sharma, Rajan said that the Congress party’s move to hold dharnas over the issue was not less than a joke.
“Our state party chief has set an example by taking resignations of Jimmy Sandhu and Jugraj Katora, even before their names appeared in the case in Ferozepur. Sh Sharma also asked the police to conduct the probe in the case without feeling any pressure and in fair manner. Till now, no politician has dared to do so. Its pity on the Congress that instead of appreciating the stand of high moral grounds taken by our party chief, they are holding dharnas,”said Rajan.
He said that Kamal Sharma was inspiration for the youth wing of the party as it was under his leadership that the party has received new heights of popularity in Punjab. His personality and morality is crystal clear and he has number of times showed the high moral grounds including on the issue of drugs in Punjab.
Rajan also visited Mukerian, Tanda, Dasuya before arriving in Jalandhar and was received amid huge enthusiasm from the young party workers.
