Chandigarh: The Punjab Government has reconstituted the District Level Coordination Committees for promoting the role of Non-government organisations (NGOs) for the development of state. A notification regarding this has been issued by the welfare branch.
Divulging the details a spokesman said that Deputy Commissioner would be the Chairman of this committee while ADC (D) and Deputy Economic & Statistical advisor would be Member Secretary and Additional Secretary respectively. He said that CMO, DDPO, DSO, DWO and DEO (S) of the concerned districts would be the members of the District Level Coordination Committee.
He said that District Level Coordination Committee would synchronize with representatives of NGOs in various poverty alleviation and development programmes. Besides this some other important development oriented works are also in the pipeline which would be taken to their logical conclusion by the District Level Coordination Committees in cohesion with NGOs.
