Gurdaspur: 4 terrorists fired at a passenger bus at Dinanagar town in Gurdaspur district and then attacked the Dinanagar police station. The terrorists have holed into the police station and held hostage 6 to 7 families of the policemen. 9 people have reportedly been killed including 3 policemen. One terrorist has also been gunned down as per the reports. More than 10 people were reportedly injured.
Notably, the terrorists attacked the police station at about 5:30 am in the uniform of Indian Army. The number of terrorists increased later.
Firing is going on between the terrorists and the Punjab Police. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has also ordered the BSF units to move to Dinanagar to assist police and army.
On the other hand, the Railway Police have recovered 5 bombs from the Amritsar-Pathankot railway line. This is also seen in the connection of Dinanagar attack.
The terrorist group has not been identified yet.
The eyewitnesses say that the terrorists snatched a car by injuring its owner and then fired at a passenger bus. Then, they travelled to police station in the car.
