Hoshiarpur: A delegation of Joshi Foundation today met Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur, Mrs. Anindita Mitra and submitted a memorandum with her. The members of Joshi Foundation demanded that the Punjab Government must announce International Anti-Drugs Day as the ‘Dry Day’.
Notably, International Anti-Drugs Day is celebrated on 26th June and the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal will be inaugurating the Drug -de-addiction and rehablitation center on 26th June at Hoshiarpur.
The members of delegation, Sanjiv Talwar, Naresh Aggarwal, Ashok Sabharwal, Sarabjit Kaur, Hoshiarpur Singh, Deepak Sharda, Neeraj Sharma, Gagan, Meenakshi Sharda, MC Neeti Singh, Ajit Singh Lucky, Rajinder Singh demanded the closure of liquor shops throughout state on 26th June in order to mark International Anti-Drugs Day.
Sanjiv Talwar informed that the Joshi Foundation have already been working against the drugs since December 2014.
