Hoshiarpur: National Cadet Corps (NCC), the premier youth organisation of the nation created a record for the largest yoga performance simultaneously by a single uniformed youth organization at multiple venues today.
More than 2500 cadets of 12 Punjab Battalion NCC Hoshiarpur performed the asanas as per the protocol given by Ministry of Ayush from 0700 hours to 0735 hours at all venues including at Rajpath in Delhi. The performance of yoga by NCC cadets on International Day of Yoga was at 5 venues in Hoshiarpur District at DAV Sen Sec. School Hoshiarpur where Union MoS Vijay Sampla was chief guest.
Cadets were too enthusiasat as Cheif guest of the day, Union MoS Mr. Sampla encouraged the cadets by performing yoga and pranayam with them. Secretary DAV College Managing Committee, Hoshiarpur Principal DL Anand presided over the function. Assistant Director Youth Services Punjab Preet Kohli was the guest of honour. Under the aegis of 12 Pb.Bn.NCC, Hoshiarpur more than 2500 number of cadets participated at 5 venues. This by no means is a small achievement. Commanding Officer of the battalion Col. GS Sran felicitated the guests by presenting them mementos on behalf of NCC. The other venues for the even included DAV College Hoshiarpur, KRK DAV Sen. Sec. School Grahdiwala, BSBS Khalsa Sen. Sec. School Mukerian and SVM Sen. Sec. School Talwara.
NCC has been at the forefront of ‘NATION BUILDING’ by grooming the youth into disciplined citizen. It has been conducting social awareness and community development programmes and adventure activities aimed at all round development of its cadets. This unique record on the ‘International Day of Yoga’ has added another feather to the cap of this youth organisation.
