Banga: A speedy passenger bus of a private company rammed into a tree near village Behram on Nawanshahar-Phagwara road. 15 people have died while 35 were injured in the mishap. Injured were rushed to the hospitals at Phagwara, Nawanshahar and other nearby hospitals. Police have been investigating into the case.
DSP Banga Sarabjit Singh said that the bus of Onkar Company was traveling from Nawanshahar to Phagwara and it became out of control because of high speed near village Behram and rammed into a tree on roadside. He said that the bus has been damaged badly and 15 passengers including driver have died and 35 people have been injured. He said that the police have been investigating into the case.
DC SBS Nagar, Partap Singh Virk also reached the spot along with other officials in order to take stock of the situation. DC Partap Singh Virk announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs. 1 Lakh to each of families of the deceased. He said that the required compensation will be given to the injured.
