Hoshiarpur: President of Social Democratic party and RTI activist Jai Gopal Dhiman has raised his voice against the air pollution caused by burning heaps of garbage.
He said, “Burning heaps of garbage and other things could easily be spotted in the nook and corner of every village or town or city.” “Moreover. such smoke emitting heaps of garbage could also be spotted in the Government offices.”
Jai Gopal Dhiman said that the Punjab Pollution Control Board have not taken required steps to check these types of negligence of the people which has been harming the environment. He said that the big heaps of rubber or plastic products could easily be spotted burning in the Bhangi Cho after a week or so.
He questioned the Punjab Pollution Control Board, “Whether they know something about Punjab Pollution Control Act, 1986 or not. If yes, then why they are silent on the destruction of natural resources.”
He said, “Air is getting polluted day by day and thus becoming harmful for humans and other animals. If the Government do not take required steps in near future, earth would not remain worth living.”
