Tanda: Varinder Pandit: The leaders and workers of District Congress Committee and District Youth Congress blocked rail traffic at Tanda railway station from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. They were protesting against the worsened law and order situation in Punjab (Moga Incident) and poor management by Punjab Government for procurement of wheat crop.
Former Union MoS Santosh Chaudhary, PPCC Vice President Sangat Singh Gilzian, DCC President Sunder Sham Arora and District Incharge Harminder Singh Gill led the dharna.
The Congress leaders said that the farmers have been facing many problems in the grain markets of Punjab because of poor management by state government for the procurement of wheat crop. They said that the government have also not been paying the payments of the farmers and thus, the farmers are facing a big financial crisis.
Congress leaders also condemned the state government for worsened law and order situation in Punjab. They alleged that the Badal family have been responsible for the molestation and murder of a minor girl in the bus of Orbit Company at Moga.
They gave an ultimatum to the Union as well as Punjab government to stop the exploitation of the people else the Congress would initiate a massive agitation against them.
MLA Rajnish Babbi, Arun Dogra Micky, District Youth Congress president Amarpreet Lally, Pawan Kumar Adia, Chaudhary Ram Lubhaya, Harmeet Singh Aulakh, Kuldeep Nanda, Gursewak Marshal and many others were present on this occasion.
