Hoshiarpur: Political Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab, Mr. Tikshan Sood said that Hoshiarpur would be a city with 100 percent sewerage and water supply facilities soon as to achieve the target Rs. 114 crore were being spent to provide these basic facilities to residents of all the 50 wards of Municipal Corporation.
“Sewer pipes about 174km have already been laid in the city and with this more than 95 percent work of laying sewer pipes has been completed. The efforts were being made to complete the remaining work as soon as possible. Besides this the construction work of STP with cost of Rs. 30 was already on pace,” said Mr. Sood after laying the foundation stone of new Tube-well with cost of Rs. 24.60 Lakh in the Jagatpura locality of the city today.
He further revealed that aiming to provide drinking water facility to the city people 45 new tube-wells have been installed in last five years in the city. “To extend the drinking water facility to the each household of Hoshiarpur city 10 more new tube-wells would also be installed in the coming months,” said Mr. Sood adding further that new pipes for drinking water supply have also been laid with cost of Rs. 14 crore.
