Joshi Foundation’s ‘Quit and Kick drug movement’ reaches Hoshiarpur
Organises round table conference of sant samaj on drug issue
Hoshiarpur: The ‘quit and kick drug movement’ initiated by Chandigarh based Joshi Foundation today reached Hoshiarpur, where chiefs of various religious institutions gave a clarion call to motivate young generations towards spirituality to keep them away from drugs.
In a detailed discussion held at Saket Ashram, Nangal Shaheedan under a theme ‘Drug Menace-A Challenge to Society-Lets join hands to find out its solution’, the representatives of Sant Samaj decided to divert young generation towards the path of spirituality so that their energy could be challenised to positive cause. They enjoined that the young generation need to be motivated and engrafted with the enriched spiritual legacy and culture of India to witness a drug free Punjab.
Among them, who actively participated and ruminated in Round Table Conference organized by Joshi Foundation included Union State Minister Mr. Vijay Sampla, Sah-Prant Sangh Sancahlak of RSS (Punjab) Brig. Initiating the proceedings of conference Brig. Jagdish Gagneja, Vijay Sampla, Khanna and Mr. Vineet Joshi said drugs were burning issue in Punjab and war level efforts were being made by Joshi Foundation in collaboration with societies and parents all parties to curb it. they said that the campaign against drugs will remain in process till its eradication in entirety.
Expressing concern over this sensitive issue, Swami Bhagwan Dass said we all should come forward against this social evil. He said in this campaign family, society and government should play their requisite role to make this campaign a success. Mahant Ramesh emphasized the need to infuse moral manners in young generation right from the family to build a health society. Mahant Rajgiri Kamahi Devi also emphasized that Sant Samaj should play a major role in this campaign.
In his address, Swami Ram Tirath Bhooriwale said only law cannot prevent the drugs and society should come forward to contribute in this movement. Sant Gurdip Giri said Sant Samaj should give a special attention to the areas having major influence of drugs while Sant Nirmal Singh said our society and young generation should tread the path shown by our saints. Brahma Kumari Raj Sister said concerted efforts against drugs could fetch positive results to build a health society.
Representative of Art of Living Dr. Rana emphaised it was need of the hour to create conducive rehabilitation environment for drug addicts to eradicate drugs.
Dr. Lakhvir Singh of Nirankari Mission and Sant Harpal Singh Bhaini Sahib gave a call to ensure the solemnization of marriages in our society purely liquor free and a move against negative influence of liquor. Swami Sirdra Acharaya said parents could play a pivotal role to motivate their wards against the negative effects of drugs.
Brig Jagdish Gagneja said according to the saying of Swami Vivekanand ji that the solution to all problems lays in spirituality so we all should focus on spirituality.
