Hoshiarpur: Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Anindita Mitra said, “In order to improve the infrastructure of Aganwari centers for creating conducive educative atmosphere for Anganwari children, new buildings would be constructed for as many as 55 such centers in Hoshiarpur district.”
While addressing a meeting for reviewing the developmental works Deputy Commissioner revealed that the first installment of Rs. 1.26 Crore for construction of buildings for these centers was released.
“As Anganwari Centers play pivotal role in developing the child’s personality in respect to the social, cultural and other spheres of the society, the infrastructural improvement would further smoothen the functioning of these centers,” added DC.
Giving block-wise details, Deputy Commissioner further informed that the new buildings would be constructed for 6 Anganwari centers each in Hoshiarpur-1, Hoshiarpur-2 and Hazipur Blocks while buildings would be constructed for 5 centers each in Mahilpur, Dasuya, Bhunga, Tanda, Mukerian and Talwara blocks besides covering the 7 centers in Garhshankar block.
While reviewing the developmental works under MP-LAD scheme, Deputy Commissioner instructed the concerned officials to submit Utilization Certificates regarding the projects under the scheme. Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the projects pertaining to widening and up-gradation of roads, water supply and sanitation, various developmental projects of Kandi area besides funds utilized under various welfare schemes. ADC (D) Mr. Harbir Singh, SDM Hoshiarpur Mr. Anand Sagar Sharma, SDM Dasuya Mr. Barjinder Singh, SDM Mukerian Mr. Rahul Chabba, SDM Garshankar Mr. Amarjit Singh, DDPO Mr. Avtar Singh Bhullar and DPO Sumandeep Kaur were also present in the meeting.
