Amritsar: Punjab Local Government, Medical Education and Research Minister Anil Joshi met Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley at his office at North Block in Delhi. Anil Joshi thanked Mr. Jaitley for the first installment of Rs. 70 crore to Amritsar for the heritage city project. Joshi also demanded that Tarn Taran should also be given heritage city status as Tarn Taran was founded by Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji. Arun Jaitley accepted the invitation of Anil Joshi to visit Amritsar along with Urban development minister of India Venkaiah Naidu to supervise and expedite the heritage city project started in Amritsar and also to expedite the Smart city project for all round development of Amritsar.
Joshi told that Arun Jaitley has shown his affection for Amritsar by including Amritsar in the list of heritage cities. Now, 70 Crore has been released and the survey has been conducted by Local Govt. department and Project director to ensure the development of heritage sites in Amritsar.
Joshi told that Punjab Govt. has already taken many steps for all round development of Amritsar and ensuring the best infrastructure of the Amritsar. Govt. has taken initiatives to convert Amritsar into the Tourist hub and already projects worth Crores of Rupees are ongoing in the Holy city of Amritsar. Joshi told that when Amritsar will become the industry hub then Industry of Amritsar will be boomed and youth will get employed.
