Hoshiarpur: The Sadar Police of Hoshiarpur have arrested 2 members of an inter-state vehicle thief gang from Dagana road Hoshiarpur. The police arrested them during the investigation of a theft case reported on 17th January, 2015.
Names of the thieves are, Ranjit Lal alias Rana s/o Piara Lal r/o Bajwara Kalan and Ashok Kumar alias Chhotu s/o Lekh Raj r/o Adampur distt. Lucknow (UP).
SHO Prem Singh said these thieves stole the iron pipes of borewell digging material of Balwinder Singh and the police arrested them in this case. During interrogation, the police found that these thieves are the members of an inter-state vehicle thief gang.
Police recovered 4 vehicles (3 bikes and an activa scooter) and the borewell digging material.
SHO Prem Kumar said that these thieves used to sell the vehicles stolen from Punjab in UP or other towns of Punjab.
