Jalandhar: Rural Development and Self Employment Training Institute (RUDSET) Jalandhar has been proving to be a ray of hope for un-employed youths particularly from rural and semi-urban areas who could not get higher or professional education as 3687 such youths have started self-employment ventures or settled well after undergoing training of various professions from the institute so far.
Deputy Commissioner Mr. Kamal Kishor Yadav revealed that as many as 334 unemployed youths have availed free training in 13 batches during 2014-2015 form RUDSET Jalandhar. He said that the institute had provided training to these 13 batches in spheres of dress designing, Mobile repair, Beauty Parlour Management, Computer hardware and repair of domestic electrical appliances. He further revealed that out of these 334 youths 144 have been settled as self employed entrepreneurs. He further said that the institute has imparted training to 6017 unemployed youths in 215 batches since its inception in December 2000 and out of these 3687 have been settles in their respective vocations.
RUDSET Director Mr. Ram Pal revealed that the institute provides free training in Mushroom farming, embroidery and fabric painting, soft toys making, football making, sports goods making, photography and video making , Computer DTP and other areas as per the annual training schedule programme. He revealed that besides providing free training, RUDSET, the institute sponsored by SDME Trust, Syndicate Bank and Canara Bank, also provides free food and accommodation in case of any under-trainee needed it.
