– Congress playing cheap politics : Sampla
Hoshiarpur: Gurdeep Singh: The Congress Sewa Dal (a unit of INC) today staged a dharna against BJP at Hoshiarpur in the leadership of Punjab President Pankaj Kirpal. The Congressmen tried to move towards the residence of Union Minister of State Vijay Sampla on Una road and attempted to gherao his residence. The police led by SP Naresh Dogra stopped them near Services Club. Later, the police arrested them.
Pankaj Kirpal said, “On one hand, the BJP criticizes the SAD’s stance on drugs and condemn the statement of Virsa Singh Valtoha in Punjab Vidhan Sabha but still they are extending support to SAD.” He added, “BJP should not take dual stand on same issue.”
Pankaj Kirpal said that they would protest against BJP and gherao the residences of other leaders of BJP also. He said that the Congress demand compensation for the Hindu families whose near ones were killed during terrorism period in Punjab but SAD leader Virsa Singh Valtoha retaliated to this demand of Congress that he was a terrorist, he is a terrorist and would be a terrorist in future. He said that the BJP has been supporting the government of terrorists in Punjab. He also alleged that SAD’s protest against BSF has been no more than a stunt to shield Bikramjit Singh Majithia.
On the other hand, MoS Vijay Sampla issued a press note in which he stated that the Congress have been politicizing the issue of drugs and terrorism period in Punjab. He said that Congress do not think about these issues when they come into power. He allaged that Congress have been playing a cheap politics.
