Hoshiarpur: “The elections of Youth Congress are acting as catalyst to divide the Congress party into factions,” said Dr. Ajay Mall, Sr. Vice President of State Youth Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC).
He elaborated, “Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi has taken this step for strengthening the party but these elections have created factions among workers and leaders of the party which would ultimately affect the party negatively.” He added, ” Already there are many factions in the party which had affected the party a lot in the past many elections.”
He said that the candidates of Youth Congress have been spending a huge amount of money on the election campaign and majorly financially sound youths have come forward as the candidates. He further said that in such a way, Rahul Gandhi can never find out deserving leaders for Congress’ and India’s future.
He gave an advice to the Congress leadership to avoid elections and work for the unity in the party.
Notably, Congress assert itself as a democratic party and elect the office bearers of all the units of the party through election process.
