The relations between Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) and its alliance partner Bhartiya Janta Party is worsening day by day but the leaders of both the parties do not admit it publicly.
It began during the elections of Haryana state when SAD decided to go against BJP in Vidhan Sabha elections. BJP leaders of Punjab, majorly, Navjot Singh Sidhu openely spoke against SAD.
Presently, both the parties have locked their horns in the holy city, Sri Amritsar Sahib over an issue of Bhagtanwala dump. Cabinet Minister and BJP leader Anil Joshi and SAD’s CPS Inderbir Singh Bolaria have been continuosly issuing statements against each other in media. Similarly, Sidhu couple (Navjot Singh Sidhu.and his wife) also do not leave any chance to speak against SAD. On the other hand, Senior leaders of SAD including CPS Virsa Singh Valtoha have started speaking against Sidhu couple.
Moreover, during the welcome march of Union Minister of state Vijay Sampla at Hoshiarpur, none of the leaders of Shiromani Akali Dal came for his welcome.
At a moment, a thought comes to the mind that all this is happening because of the impatience of the SAD and BJP leaders. But, if we look at the behaviour of BJP with their alliance partners in other states, a deep strategy of BJP comes to light.
BJP, the party which came into power in Union Government with full majority after many years is now confident to win the states alone (without their alliance partners). Same happened in Maharashtra and Haryana. So, now we cannot keep Punjab away from the strategy of BJP to strengthen itself alone. Appointing Vijay Sampla as Minister of State in Union Government is also a strategy. So, breaking alliance with SAD could be a strategy of BJP and the mission has begun by locking horns with SAD from holy city Sri Amritsar Sahib.
