New Delhi: Minister of State Vijay Sampla and Krishan Pal assumed charge of the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment here today. Welcoming both the Ministers the Union Minster for Social Justice & Empowerment Shri Thaawar Chand Gehlot said that the social, economical, educational empowerment of SC’s, OBC’s and disabled is the priority of his Ministry. The Government schemes to provide better welfare and upliftment opportunities will get added focus with the joining of the Ministers.
Interacting with the media, Mr. Vijay Sampla said that he himself had a very humble beginning as a low paid worker, hence he was aware of the problems and difficulties of the disadvantage section of the Society specially Dalits. The Minister also expressed his concern about the drug problem in his State and assured to work towards eradicating it.
Krishan Pal, MoS, SJE said welfare of the old people, disabled and schedule cast will be his priority and he feels obliged being the member of the team working to fulfill this agenda.
Both the minister were greeted by Senior officers of the Ministry led by Sudhir Bhargava, Secretary, SJE and Smt. Stuti Kakkar, Secretary, Department of Disability on their arrival.
