Hoshiarpur: The Cabinet Minister of Punjab, Mr. Anil Joshi today during his Hoshiarpur visit cleaned the Mahilpur Adda in Hoshiarpur city. Political Adviser to CM Tikshan Sood, Director of Co-operative Bank (Hoshiarpur) Satwinderpal Singh Dhatt, Shiv Sood, Dr. Raman Ghai, Vijay Pathania and many others were also present on this occasion.
While talking to the media persons, Anil Joshi said that Punjab Government would take the Swachh Bharat Campaign initiated by PM Narendra Modi to next level. He informed that the Punjab Government have issued Rs. 1 crore to each Municipal Corporation of Punjab to install dust bins at public places. He said that it has been the need of the hour to develop an environment of cleanliness and automatically the people would start using dustbins. He also asked the administration of Hoshiarpur to involve the general public in this campaign including NGOs. He said that a Nodal Officer for Swachh Bharat Campaign has been deployed in every Municipal Corporation of Punjab to lead campaign.
Mr. Joshi further informed that from 5th November, a company will be deployed in the Municipal Corporations of Punjab to collect garbage from households. He said that same company would also install a Solid Waste Management plant in every Municipal Corporation. He said that company would use garbage to produce electricity and other works.
He sought the cooperation and involvement of general public.
