Hoshiarpur: The Director of Co-operative Bank and member of District Grievances Committee, Mr. Satwinder Pal Singh Dhatt today raised important issues of wood market on Hariana road and pollution caused by Sugar Mill at Randhawa.
Mr. Dhatt said that the wood traders have been looting the farmers by taking tax from them for selling wood and deceiving the Government by not submitting the tax. He said that the wood traders have been digesting Crores of Rupees of tax per day.
Chairman Anil Joshi formed a committee including the administrative officials to study the matter and submit the report within 15 days.
Mr. Dhatt demanded to shift the wood market to the place where the wood market has been constructed on Hariana-Dholwaha road.
In his second question, Mr. Satwinder Pal Singh Dhatt arose the question of pollution caused by the sugar mill at Randhawa. He said that the underground water of the villages coming inside 4 Km radius of the sugar mill is not even worth irrigating the crops and how can the people drink it. He demanded to take out the solution of the problem.
