Mukerian: The Mukerian police successfully stopping a gang war during a Kabaddi Tournament at village Chakk Alla Baksh near here have booked 26 members of 2 gangs. Most of them have been arrested. The Police have recovered illegal guns, illegal pistols and other sharp edged weapons from them.
Police have lodged 2 FIRs against 26 gangsters. Both the FIRs have been lodged under section 148 and 149 of IPC and section 25, 29, 54 and 59 of Arms act.
SHO Mukerian Jagdish Raj said that both the gangs were here for a gang war and they have successfully maintained the law and order by controlling the gang war.
In first case, SI Tirath Ram said that he got an information that some people have been holding illegal guns, illegal pistols and other sharp edged weapons in their hands and creating an environment of fear in the Kabaddi tournament at village Chakk Alla Baksh.
The names of the gangsters arrested in first case, Prabhjot Singh alias Jyoti s/o Sampuran Singh r/o Khurdan (PS Garhdiwala), Karnail Singh s/o Rashpal Singh r/o Chakk Ladian, Prince s/o Jasbir Singh, Mohit Jairath s/o Swatantar and Dinesh Kumar s/o Baldev Singh all residents of Committee Bazar Hoshiarpur. All of them have been arrested.
In second case, SI Tirath Ram said that some youths were holding arms and other weapons in their hands and were creating an environment of fear at the Kabaddi Tournament at village Chakk Alla Baksh.
The names of the gangsters booked in second case are, Sham Singh s/o Jaswant Singh r/o Mukerian, John r/o Kala Manjh, Joy r/o Mukerian, Ghodi r/o Hariana, Sonu r/o Khun Khuna, Binder r/o Mukerian, Ranbir r/o Ghogra, Gikka r/o Niara, Kaka r/o Hoshiarpur, Aman Bains r/o Mukerian, Pankaj Bawa r/o Mukerian, Sunny r/o Mukerian, Julka r/o Mukerian, Sonu r/o Khanpur, Jeeti r/o Manjhpur, Mohan Bhalwan r/o Dasuya, Khurana r/o Talwara, Kapil r/o Hajipur, Parminder Singh r/o Mukerian, Dheera r/o Panwa and Jeeta Bhalwan r/o Dasuya. Some of these have been arrested and the police have been conducting raids to arrest accused.
