Hoshiarpur: The Hoshiarpur city is all set to again burn in the communal fire as the Hindu organizations have made their mind to stop the religious function of Christian community being organized at Roshan Ground Hoshiarpur on 29th October. On the other hand, the Christian community have accepted the challenge and declared that they would conduct the function in every situation as they have a legal permission from Hoshiarpur administration and it is also their right to follow their religion.
A few days ago, Vishav Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal addressed a press conference at Hoshiarpur Press Club in which the spokesperson, Kamaljit Setia declared that they would not allow the religious function of the Christians to be held on 29th October, 2014 at Roshan Ground Hoshiarpur.
Mr. Setia alleged that the Christian organizations persuade the Dalits and other followers of Hinduism and Sikhism to change their religion to Christianity in these types of functions. He further alleged that the Christian Organizations allure them with some or the other types of benefits in order to convert their religion to Christianity.
Mr. Setia also gave an ultimatum of 26th October to the administration to cancel the permission granted to the Christian organization else the VHP and Bajrang Dal workers would assemble in Hoshiarpur on 29th October from all over Punjab and stop the function of the Christian community.
Today, the President of Christian Front Punjab, Lawrance Chaudhary addressed a press conference at Hoshiarpur Press Club and declared that they would conduct the function as scheduled. He said that they have legal permission from the Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Hoshiarpur to organize the function at Roshan Ground Hoshiarpur. He further said that the Constitution of India have given them a fundamental right to practice our religion freely and no one could stop them.
Mr. Chaudhary declared that they would conduct the function in every situation and the administration could look into the matter of law and order.
So, in such a way, it will be an uphill task for the Hoshiarpur administration to tackle the communal conflict between Hindu and Christian organizations. Curfew like situation may also arise as both the sides have been firm on their stance.
