Hoshiarpur: The Inspector General of BSF Punjab Frontier Ashok Kumar took salute from the passing out parade of 231st batch of 46 women cadets and 141 men cadets of BSF Training Center Kharkan in Hoshiarpur district.
Deputy Commissioner Mr. Amit Dhaka and Assistant Commissioner of Excise and Taxation, Mrs. Dalvir Raj also witnessed the passing out parade.
IG BSF Ashok Kumar said that 5332 women constables have been serving at the borders after taking training from the BSF Training Center Kharkan. He said that today 46 more women constables would join them and serve the nation.
He congratulated all the cadets and their family members for completing the training and entering the service of nation. He also honoured the cadets who stood winners in various types of competitions among eachother.
DIG Kharkan, Mr. HS Dhillon informed the cadets who passed out today after training hailed from all over India. He added that 99 cadets were from West Bengal, 23 cadets were from Andhra Pradesh, 32 from Bihar, 5 each from UP and Uttrakhand, 4 each from Haryana and Rajasthan, 3 from Maharashtra, 2 each from Madhya Pradesh, Assam and J&K and 1 each from Jharkhand and Gujarat.
DIG Dhillon further said that 1 of the cadets was post graduate, 15 were graduate, 83 were inter mediate and 88 were Matriculate. He said that in the 44 week training, every type of required training has been given to the cadets. He said that now they have been ready for serving the nation on the borders.
